The Illinois Saint Andrew Society's Annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games is the largest of it's kind in the midwest.

From Ceilidhs and Highland Dancing to Cabertossing and Haggis eating contests, our Highland Games has something for the entire family. Thousands of spectators and hundreds of competing dancers, pipers, celtic vendors and shortbread-bakers unite for a two-day festival of impressive proportions

Patrons also enjoy a large selection of beers, whiskeys and traditional Scottish fare. Join us... and be Scottish for a day!

Award Winning Shortbread from Thomas Christensen

Almond Shortbread

1 1/2 cups butter, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup cornstarch

7oz. almond paste

1 1/3 cups flour

1 tsp. vanilla

1/4 tsp. salt

Cut all ingredients together with a pastry blender. Spread into a greased 8x8 pan and dock with a fork.

Bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes, until golden brown.
