Scottish Fiddle Group

The Scottish Fiddle Group (SFG) grew out of the first annual Scottish Music Camp held in 2006. Participants learned traditional and contemporary Scottish music under the leadership of Lily Henley. The group has since performed at the ISAS Highland Games, Chicago Celtic Fest, the Daley Plaza, the Midlothian Scottish Festival, LaGrange Borders and the Museum of Science and Industry. SFG has also sponsored workshops and concerts by fiddlers Laura Risk, Shona Mooney and Hanneke Cassel. More are planned for the future.

The group welcomes all musicians of any level. SFG meets regularly in the LaGrange area and will be holding its third annual music camp this summer at a date yet to be determined. Please check their
website for further information.

SFG is fortunate to have renowned fiddler and violist Carol Cook become its new music director. Carol will be giving a free workshop in May 2008 for those interested in joining the group. Details will be available soon. For more information please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   at 708-602-4408.
