Nourishing Scottish Identity Since 1845
Established in 1845, the Illinois Saint Andrew Society is the oldest 501(c)3 charity in Illinois. Today the Society has grown into the largest Scottish organization in North America. The Illinois Saint Andrew Society welcomes everyone who is Scottish by birth, by heritage or simply by inclination.
Our principal charity is the Scottish Home, a nursing home that the Society built in 1910 and has supported for 100 years. At the Scottish Home, we offer a wide range of outstanding assisted living and nursing services.
The Illinois Saint Andrew Society also reaches out to the next generation of lives in the Scottish American community. We provide scholarships to bright, talented young students and we host events to help families learn about Scottish culture, art, music, dance and literature including the Scottish Festival and Highland Games. The Society hosts many other events throughout the year, including a Burns Supper, Tartan Day, Scotland Week, the Kilted Classic Golf Tournament, the Scottish North American Leadership Conference and the Saint Andrew's Day Feast. The Society operates the worlds only Scottish American Museum and Scottish American Hall of Fame to celebrate Scottish accomplishments and contributions to life in North America.
ISAS has a distinguished history of providing community services. Since 1910 ISAS has supported the Scottish Home a retirement community located in a beautiful forest preserve in North Riverside.
