Letter from a Harper Brown Scholarship Recipient Michael D. Cobb:

Scotland is incredible. While weather has taken a bit of time to adjust to, I'm thoroughly enjoying my experience over here. I've spent quite a bit of time talking with Scottish students learning about Scotland. I've realized even more how rich and unique Scotland's culture truly is. The Scots have created extraordinary inventions and significantly contributed to the development of individual nations, including the US.

This type of learning must be experienced - it is so much more vivid than I ever could have imagined from distant reading....Much of my learning, though, has been simply through speaking with Scots. I've had the opportunity to quiz them about anything and everything. It's been interesting to pick up on Scottish political ideas and opinions. It is a different world from what I've been used to, but I wouldn't trade my time over here for anything....
