"Every line of strength in American history is colored with Scottish blood"

Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States

On the bicentennial of the United States of America, 100 Americans of Scottish decent were inducted into the world's only Hall of Fame devoted to the contributions of Scottish Americans.

The inductees included America's Founders, explorers and pioneers, physicians, politicians, presidents, religious leaders, soldiers and sailors, and Scots from many other fields and disciplines.

Great Scots, a book dedicated to the contributions of Scottish Americans, was released posthumously by James C. Thomson, onetime president of the Illinois Saint Andrew Society, and architect of the Scottish American Hall of Fame. The book, which is still available for purchase, elaborates on the accomplishments of the inductees in their respective fields.

The Scottish American Hall of Fame and Museum is located at the Scottish Home in North Riverside, Illinois.
